The Poe Dormitory at The Hun School of Princeton was replaced by a new, larger residence hall that opened in the fall of 2025.
The new building is a three-story, 41,000-square-foot residence hall that houses 114 students and 12 faculty families and is designed to feel like a small village with multiple interconnected “in-hall houses”. It includes 60 dormitory rooms, 9 lounges with kitchenettes and 3 outdoor courtyards.
Our engineering design highlights include rooftop energy recovery units, variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems, split systems, perimeter electric heaters, exhaust air systems, a building automation system that is integrated with the existing campus controls system, a domestic water heating system, domestic water distribution system, and electric water heaters. A few other design highlights to mention are a diesel generator, addressable fire alarm system, low voltage systems power, and fire protection system (performance specification).
