McHugh is thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Ellis Preserve Mass Timber Office Building in Newtown Square, PA! This landmark project is a five-story structure encompassing 105,000 square feet and is the first commercial office building in the Philadelphia region to be constructed using Mass Timber. This innovative approach offers a sustainable and environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional concrete and steel constructions.
McHugh Engineering’s scope of work included the design of essential spaces such as the parking garage, restrooms, lobby, and open office areas. Engineering services include mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection system with specific elements of our work including the dedicated outside air system, building automation system, VRF system, ductless split system, perimeter electric heaters, parking garage ventilation, carbon monoxide detection, gas piping distribution system, exit/emergency lighting, power distribution, addressable fire alarm, and dry pipe sprinkler system.
