The project was designed for the Philadelphia Vicinity YMCA and is currently under construction with a completion date of winter 2011. The facility consist of indoor pools, gyms, indoor track, weight lifting area, aerobics rooms, spinning rooms, classrooms, child care, data closet and administration offices. Systems include dehumidification units, an energy recovery unit, package rooftop units, split systems, duct furnaces and a building automation system. The dehumidification units also provide supplemental pool heating. Electrical systems include occupancy lighting sensors, a lighting control system, an emergency generator, lighting, power and life safety design. Plumbing systems include water heating, piping, and sensor operated fixtures.

The project consisted of renovations for 52,000 sq.ft. classroom building (Jesuit Building), 5,500 sq.ft. connector and 24,000 sq.ft. of common space renovations. Designs for lighting, receptacles, power, plumbing, HVAC, fire alarm, computer/data system raceways and boxes, and telephone raceways. Mechanical ventilation systems include 4 pipe fan coil systems, exhaust air, energy recovery units for fresh air, carbon dioxide monitoring, and variable frequency drives. Additional systems included a domestic water booster system, exit/emergency lighting, fire pump, and emergency generator.

Provided Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical and Fire Protection design for a LEED Core and shell design. The 4 story office building achieved a LEED Gold rating. LEEDS core and shell points were optimize energy performance (performed building simulation), light pollution reduction, carbon dioxide monitoring, no CFC refrigerants, LEEDS tenant design guidelines, tenant sub metering, low VOC’s, minimum energy performance, water use reduction, waterless urinals, dual flush water closets, building. DDC/Energy Management System, minimum IAQ performance, outdoor air delivery monitoring, MERV 13 filtration. Electrical systems included emergency power systems, exit/emergency lighting and automatic lighting controls. The mechanical systems included central rooftop HVAC systems with variable frequency device, ductless split systems, exhaust air systems, fan powered parallel type VAV boxes. The Plumbing / Fire protection systems included a fire pump, standpipe system, common area restrooms and stack locations for future plumbing.
