The Haverford YMCA is a dynamic new athletic facility developed on the abandoned site of the Swell Bubble Gum factory bringing new life to the site. The facility boasts of indoor swimming pools, locker rooms, fitness area, gyms, indoor track, weight lifting area, aerobics rooms, spinning rooms, classrooms, child care, data closet, and administration offices. Design services for the facility include M/P/E/FP. The mechanical design incorporates dehumidification units, an energy recovery unit, package rooftop units, split systems, duct furnaces, and a web accessible building automation system. Additionally, the pool dehumidification units provide supplemental pool heating. The electrical design utilizes occupancy lighting sensors, a standalone lighting control system, and an emergency generator. Plumbing systems include water heating, piping, and sensor operated fixtures including sensor operated showers in the family locker room to help parents with their children. All building services are sized for future expansion.
