The project is one the first steps to revitalize low income housing in North Philadelphia. The projects consist of 57 high efficiency homes on several lots surrounding demolished apartment buildings. The homes meet Energy Star version 3 and Green Communities requirements. In addition to the townhomes, the site has community spaces and management offices. Design services include mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection. Mechanical systems utilize high efficient split system heat pumps and whole house ventilation systems in compliance with ASHRAE 62.2. The plumbing systems utilize individual electric water heaters and low flow fixtures. Electrical systems include individual metered units and security systems for the site. Fire protection systems utilize NFPA-13D and 13R building requirements.
